It is our objective to provide unique and exciting duplicate bridge
holidays for players of all abilities plus those who want to learn
or improve. There is always a full and exciting duplicate bridge
programme that usually includes either Swiss teams or pairs. We
also try to ensure that tennis, bowls and other facilities are freely

running licensed overseas duplicate bridge holiday being held in
October 2011 for the 40th consecutive year. If you want a Balearic
island holiday this is the place to come. We guarantee that our
duplicate bridge tuition will provide plenty of humour and will
be of the highest standard. The bridge tuition will provide comprehensive
notes as well as lasting memories. We will also be offering UK duplicate
bridge weekends and breaks.

Our Bridge Programmes
We would like to stress that nothing on our duplicate bridge holidays
is obligatory. You play in as many or as few bridge sessions as
you wish. Obviously our bridge programme for a particular bridge
holiday will vary dependent on the length of the break. In addition
to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum
of two bridge seminars. Duplicate bridge is usually available twice
daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish
between 4.45pm & 5pm the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm.
The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour
to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs,
with at least one Swiss style event during a two week bridge holiday
abroad. During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine
which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end
of the session and when we have two or more sections both can play
the same hands. With our UK duplicate bridge breaks we always lay
on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

What is Bridge?
Good question, that's hard to answer, but here goes...
Bridge is a card game, the aim of which is to make
as many tricks as possible, using both your own cards, and that
of your partner. Between you, your team will hold half the cards
in the deck. Your opposition will hold the other half. The game
borrows on techniques learnt from chess and poker. The skilful
player will not only play with thought and care, but will also
bluff where necessary in order to sow seeds of doubt in their
opponents’ minds. The skill of the opponents is in overcoming
this smoke-screen. Easy to learn, but hard to master, it has an
endearing appeal which has lasted throughout the centuries. A
game played by many millions of people throughout the world, including
ex-US presidents, film stars, and people like you and us.
